Symptoms

The virtual machine was cloned by sending a similar PVA API request to the PVA Agent::

<packet xmlns:ns1="http://www.swsoft.com/webservices/vzp/4.0.0/vzprelocator" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <target>vzprelocator</target>
    <data>
        <vzprelocator>
            <clone>
                <eid>f1ca927f-73da-4416-a269-828dc99034fd</eid>
                <count>1</count>
                <options xsi:type="ns1:clone_optionsType">
                    <name>Myvm_clone</name>
                    <config>
                       <home_path>/customfolder/Myvm_clone.pvm</home_path>
                    </config>
                    <force>false</force>
                </options>
            </clone>
        </vzprelocator>
    </data>
</packet>

The newly created virtual machine will be stored in the default VM home folder configured for the server:

# prlsrvctl info | grep -i Home
VM home: /var/parallels
# ls -ld /var/parallels/Myvm_clone.pvm
drwx------ 1 root root 0 Nov 21 01:10 /var/parallels/Myvm_clone.pvm

Cause

The issue is recognized as product bug PVA-34413.

Resolution

The fix will be included in one of the future product updates.
