After the backup was created on FTP repository the dump files exist in both FTP and server repository.
The following error can appear in backup log (
/var/log/plesk/PMM/backup-YYYY-mm-dd-HH-MM-SS-nnn/backup.log) on Plesk server:

- Remove the backup from server repository
The backup remains in server repository, because process of backups uploading fails. It can be caused by connectivity issue between Parallels Plesk and FTP server, or by FTP server misconfiguration.
Go through the following checklist:
- Make sure that FTP repository server is up and running during the creation of the backup.
- Check that firewall allows connections to TCP port 21 (
iptables -L -n).
- Make sure that file
/etc/hosts.deny(TCPD wrappers) does not block access to TCP port 21 for your FTP host.
Connect from Plesk server to FTP server with FTP user credentials and try to upload backup manually:
# ftp email@example.com ftp> lpwd ftp> cd pub ftp> put backup.tgz ftp> bye
- When stuck on a particular step of the checklist above, check log of remote FTP server and fix the issue.
