  1. Some mail users using webmail Roundcube are having issues sending mails (long delays over 120 seconds).
  2. Some mail users are unable to send messages via Roundcube with an error Request time out.

Customer have set Check spelling before sending a message checkbox in Preferences. Roundcube is configured to use remote server that is not available.

  1. Check that access to the spell-checking online service is not blocked by firewall and DNS-name is resolving successfully. Online spell-checking service is defined in /usr/share/psa-roundcube/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_spellchecker.php file by the string GOOGLE_HOST = 'ssl://' ('ssl://' is a default value).

  2. You may use local service for spell checking. Please see this article to configure it.

  3. It is possible to disable it on the user side:

Go to Settings->Preferences->Composing Messages->Spellcheck Options and clear checkbox Check spelling before sending a message.

  4. To disable spell checking on the whole server:

    • Open /usr/share/psa-roundcube/config/

    • Find $rcmail_config['enable_spellcheck'] parameter.

    • Set this parameter to "false" and save changes.
