Container's disk C: cannot be managed in Disk Management console (Server Manager > Storage > Disk Management), "unable to connect to Virtual Disk Service" error is appeared.



Inside the containers System disk C: cannot be managed via standard disk management tools provided by Microsoft by design. It can be managed from node's side using native Virtuozzo tools like vzctl.

Only additional SCSI disks inside containers can be managed via Microsoft Disk Management.


An additional SCSI drive can be added to the container using the following command:

C:\> vzctl partadd %ctid% --drive %driveletter% --size %drivesize% --scsi
