The ability to send and receive network broadcasts is configurable on an individual virtual environment (VE) level within Virtuozzo.  Network broadcasts can consume significant bandwidth and not always required in the networked environment.

Broadcasts are required for enabling the following for VE’s:

•    Microsoft (NetBIOS) name resolution (i.e. to be able to access a server or a share by its symbolic name - \\myservera\share).

•    DHCP server (i.e. Active Directory can be configured within a VE together with DHCP server to provide addresses for physical machines in your network).

To enable broadcasts for every new VE, you would create a correspondent configuration sample (i.e. basic-broadcast) with the 'Enable broadcasts' checked.

To enable broadcasts for an existing VE through VZMC, you would right click on the VE and choose Properties, then select the Advanced tab.  On the Advanced tab, you would check the Enable broadcasts checkbox and click OK to apply the setting.
