  • Applies to:
  • Virtuozzo containers for Windows

Within Virtuozzo, the cloning of a VE allows you to create a duplicate virtual environment with all the applications and settings of the original. A new Microsoft Windows internal identifier (SID) is being generated for the cloned VE. This makes it possible to join the cloned VE into a Windows Domain (i.e. Active Directory).

If you clone a VE which is already a member of a Windows Domain, the change of the SID is not being synchronized with the domain automatically. To properly join a cloned VE into an existing domain, you will need to:

  • First, remove the VE from the existing domain,
  • Next, assign it to a Workgroup,
  • Reboot the VE,
  • Finally, rejoin it back to the original domain.
