Cause

Backup directory contains too many folders and files, and operation fails with a default timeout. The issue is known under internal ID PSBM-28918.

Resolution

The issue will be fixed in future Virtuozzo updates. In the meantime, the following workaround can be used.

NOTE: All virtual environments will be stopped during this operation.

  1. Stop parallels-server service

    [root@vz ~]# service parallels-server stop

  2. Increase the <SendReceiveTimeout> timeout in <DispToDispPreferences> section of /etc/parallels/dispatcher.xml:

    <DispToDispPreferences dyn_lists="">
    <ConnectionTimeout>60</ConnectionTimeout>
    <SendReceiveTimeout>600</SendReceiveTimeout>
    </DispToDispPreferences>

  3. Start parallels-server service

    [root@vz ~]# service parallels-server start
