Pcompact utility fails to compact the containers on the defragmentation stage:

[root@vz ~]# pcompact
Inspect f0cc75d9-4adb-4f63-af88-e270441533b0
Inspect /vz/private/101/root.hdd/DiskDescriptor.xml
Disk: /vz/private/101/root.hdd/DiskDescriptor.xml
ploop=204800MB image=102767MB data=82209MB balloon=0MB
Rate: 10.0 (threshold=10)
Start compacting (to free 10317MB)
Start defrag dev=/dev/ploop17084p1 mnt=/vz/root/101 blocksize=2048
Pass3: Rescan subtree failed
Error in wait_pid (balloon.c:933): The /usr/libexec/e4defrag process failed with code 1
ploop=204800MB image=103969MB data=82224MB balloon=0MB
End compacting

Insufficient limits on amount of open files prevents e4defrag from collecting the list of fragmented files. The issue is recognized as a product bug with internal ID PSBM-40019.

The bug is fixed in Virtuozzo 6.0 Update 10 Hotfix 4 (6.0.10-3168).

In case updates installation was postponed, to workaround the issue, update e4defrag only using yum update:

[root@vz ~]# yum update e2fsprogs-e4defrag2-static.x86_64

Or manually from actual URL:

[root@vz ~]# yumdownloader --url e2fsprogs-e4defrag2-static.x86_64
Loaded plugins: auto-update-debuginfo, fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* cl-base:
* cl-updates:

[root@vz ~]# rpm -ivh
