  1. Apache and Nginx do not start on boot.
  2. Version of Apache installed is 2.2
  3. The following directory is missing after server reboot: /var/run/apache2. Even when created manually, it is still removed after the server reboot.
  4. mod_ssl is enabled on a server

There are 2 workarounds available:

  1. Disable mod_ssl and restart apache:

    # a2dismod ssl
    # service apache2 restart
  2. Add the following entry to /etc/init.d/apache2 file:

    [ -d /var/run/apache2 ] || mkdir /var/run/apache2
