Container's virtual hard disk (root.efd) may be corrupted or it is located on a bad block of the underlying disk device. This would prevent the snapshot of the virtual disk by the backup utility.

  1. Check the hard disk, where the container resides, for any hardware errors.
  2. Perform a file system check of the container.
  3. If steps 1 and 2 did not help, it is advised to restore the container from a backup.
