Internet Explorer 7 is installed on Virtuozzo node. All VEs have IE7 inside and work properly.

IE7 has been removed from one of VE accidentally. Now it is impossible to install it back even if installer is run inside VE as on physical server.  Installation finishes successfully, but Internet Explorer keeps being of 6.0 version.

IE 7 is integrated with kernel and its installation is different of installation of common application inside VE.  Normally installation of IE7 is done with special script which is run during VE startup. This script checks what is the current version of IE7 is installed inside VE and if it is lower than 7.0, installation process is initialized.

Most likely that after the actions described in symptoms area, the registry value which is responsible for IE version keeps being 7.0 version and IE7 installation does not run.

Run regedit and go to the following registry key:

Change the Version value from to

When it is done, please restart VE to initialize upgrade to Internet Explorer 7
