  • Plesk 8.x for Linux/Unix

If you start Plesk CP from the command line, it shows no errors, and there are no messages in logs:
# /etc/init.d/psa start1
Starting Plesk...                                                     failed

If you try to start /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpsd directly, the "Cannot read" error occurs:
# /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpsd
Cannot read ''

This error occurs if the /usr/local/psa/version file is missing.

Create /usr/local/psa/version and put the current Plesk version into it; for example:
# echo "8.3.0 FedoraCore 7 83080109.18"  > /usr/local/psa/version
