I try to access the Parallels Plesk Panel (PP) CP login page and get the following error:

Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 Warning: Unknown: Failed opening 'auth.php3' for inclusion (include_path='.:') in Unknown on line 0

This error means that PP cannot find the needed PHP files for inclusion in the current include_path. Usually, the problem occurs due to damaged PP configuration files.

Make sure that there is no php.ini file in the root directory on the server:
ls -al /php.ini

If you find this file, rename or move it from the "/" directory, restart PP, and try to log in again.

Also, check that the httpsd.conf and php.ini files exist in the $PRODUCT_ROOT_D/admin/conf/ directory and that they do not have a size of zero:
# ls -la /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/{php.ini,httpsd.conf}
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root   15276 2008-01-31 11:42 /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/httpsd.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root psaadm 48715 2008-02-26 17:40 /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/php.ini

If you believe that these files are damaged, you can copy them from another working PP server that has the same PP version installed. Restart PP and check if it works.
