When I try to access a nonexistent domain in Plesk or a new domain that still has the default Plesk "index.html" page, the page loads for several minutes.


The Plesk default index.html page contains a JavaScript code that connects to the 8880 port on the Plesk server to get news. If this port is not accessible, some browsers show the page as loading while the timeout occurs.


Make sure that port 8880 is opened on the Plesk server and that you can access it from the outside. The list of ports that are required by Plesk can be found in the corresponding article.

Alternatively, you can replace the default Plesk index pages with your own ones. The pages should be replaced in the following skeleton directories:


And for the default domain:


Note that the path to the "vhosts" folder differs for different OSes; see the "HTTPD_VHOSTS_D" variable value in /etc/psa/psa.conf to find it.
