The procedure to re-install PIM is quite easy and can be completed with a few simple steps. These are the steps:

1. Upgrade your current PIM up to the latest update, PIMU400003, where backup/restore functionality has been implemented.

2. Back up your current PIM infrastructure with the following command:

cscript pimBackupData.vbs <backup_folder>

3. Stop services using the following commands on the Virtuozzo server:

sc stop vzaop
sc stop vzaopcompat
vzctl exec 1 sc stop vzcpd
sc stop snmp
sc stop vzupsvc

4. Uninstall PIM and PIM updates with the "Add/Remove programs" Windows snap-in.
5. Make sure that there are no PIM records left in the system. There are a couple things that need to be done:

   - Remove every PIM-related file in C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Virtuozzo\Updates.
   - Remove every PIM-related record from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SWSoft\VZUpdates\{6F8A99AF-96C7-482D-941E-96796F249721}" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SWSoft\VZTools" (if any).

6. Start Virtuozzo Update Service:

sc start vzupsvc

7. Obtain the corresponding VZ tools installer for your architecture, rename it as a file with an *.exe extension, and run it. Click here to learn how to download the VZ tools installer.
8. Install all available PIM updates and make sure PIMU400003 exists in the "Add/Remove programs" list.
9. Restore PIM infrastructure with the following command:

cscript pimRestoreData.vbs --force <backup_folder>

Note: pimBackupData.vbs and pimRestoreData.vbs are located in the %SystemDrive%\Program Files\SWSoft\Virtuozzo\VZAgent\bin folder on x86 servers, and in the %SystemDrive%\Program Files (x86)\SWsoft\Virtuozzo\VZAgent folder on x64.
