  • Applies to:
  • Plesk 9.x for Linux/Unix
  • Plesk 9.x for Windows
  • Plesk Expand 2.x

Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5.4 for Linux, Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5.4/9.5.5 for Windows, and Parallels Plesk Expand 2.3.2 are all compatible after applying the Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5.4 and Parallels Plesk Expand 2.3.2+ Compatibility Patch.

Known Problems and Limitations

  • This compatibility patch hides the Plesk client with the username admin in Expand. This makes it impossible to manage domains and perform other routine operations on behalf of this user from Expand. If you wish to manage the domains of admin, reassign them to another client.
  • Patched Plesk servers do not send a list of admin client domains through API RPC or CLI.
  • The admin client isn't hidden if Plesk v.9.x.x was connected to Expand before applying this patch. Disconnect/reconnect all Plesk v.9.x.x servers from Expand before/after applying the patch.
  • Centralized backup of Plesk data from Expand always completes with the Error status, although the backups are successfully created.
  • It is not possible to log in from Expand to a patched Plesk server, client, or domain without entering the appropriate credentials unless you first log in to the Plesk server, accept the license agreement again, and select "Do not show it again."

Additional Information

Parallels Plesk Expand version 2.3 is not completely compatible with Parallels Plesk Panel 9.x versions released prior to 9.5.4. Functionality in versions prior to version 9.5.4 will be limited as follows:
  • One of the problems is usage of Centralized Mail server. If Parallels Plesk Panel 9 is assigned to Centralized Mail through Parallels Plesk Expand, then the buttons Mail Accounts and Mail are not hidden in Parallels Plesk Panel. They still lead to the local mail server and may cause a misconfiguration in mail service. You may hide the Mail Accounts buttons in page presets manually. For details, refer to this article:, the Mail button in the left Navigation Panel (Main Menu) under the client login cannot be hidden. It still leads to the local mail server and may cause misconfiguration.
  • Parallels Plesk Expand is not compatible with Parallels Plesk Panel for Windows version 9.5.5. To fix this problem, you can install a Plesk compatibility patch from
