  • Virtuozzo containers Tools

Symptoms

If I click the link "Forgot your password?" on the PIM login screen, I see the following error message: "The password recovery is unavailable due to system error #cp1002. Please contact your service provider."

Resolution

You need to enable the messaging feature in Parallels Infrastructure Manager (PIM).

Log in to PIM as "root" user: https://Virtuozzo_Server_IP_address/vz/cp
"Virtuozzo_Server_IP_Address - IP" is the address of Paralles Virtuozzo Containers server.

1. Go to "Setup > Messaging" and press the "Configure" button. Check the box "Enable Email Notifications" and enter corresponding values in the sections "System Email Account" and "Administrator Email Account."

Press the "Submit" button, and status in the "Notifications" section will be changed to "Enabled."

2. If you do not have a PIM license, you may enable messaging via manual editing of the file /var/vzagent/etc/mailer.conf on a Virtuozzo node. Open that file in any text editor and you will see:

<packet xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<config>
<notify>0</notify>
<accounts>
<admin>
<name></name>
<email></email>
</admin>
<system>
<name></name>
<email></email>
</system>
</accounts>
</config>
</packet>

Make the following changes:
- change "0" to "1" in the tag <notify>
- enter correct values into tags <name> and <email>
as shown below.

<packet xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<config>
<notify>1</notify>
<accounts>
<admin>
<name>Test Admin Account</name>
<email>admin@example.com</email>
</admin>
<system>
<name>Test System Account</name>
<email>system@example.com</email>
</system>
</accounts>
</config>
</packet>

Apply changes by restarting the service "vzcp" inside Service Container #1:

// from Hardware Node:
# vzctl exec2 1 service vzcp restart

// or inside Service Container #1:
# vzctl enter 1
# service vzcp restart
