Backup file conversion from previous Parallels Plesk Panel version to version 9.0.0 reports an error similar to the following one:

Unexpected name of pinfo: news_dismissednews_dismissed
Validation error at line 182 position 14
The 'name' attribute is invalid - The value '' is invalid according to its
datatype 'Token' - The Enumeration constraint failed.

Created dump:

The converted backup file cannot be restored but reported as Not a valid backup file by Backup Manager.

The problem exists in Parallels Plesk Panel version 9.0.0 only. It may be fixed using the instructions below. Since Parallels Plesk Panel version 9.0.1 and later "Unexpected name of pinfo: news_dismissed" is just information notification, it may be ignored.

In Parallels Plesk Panel version 9.0.0:

1. Extract backup file from previous version into separate folder first and go to that folder. Backup file is zip archive, so that you can add .zip extension ot it and extract.

2. Archive contains various files, find and edit info.xml file with any plain text editor. You need to find a remove the following tag from the file:

<misc param="admin_news_dismissed" val="1" />

3. Archive all files back into a single zipped backup file.

Now you can repeat converting backup file to Parallels Plesk Panel version 9.0.0 one.

Do not use the instructions to fix the backup file in Parallels Plesk Panel 9.0.1 or later.
