Container reboots without apparent reasons on hardware node which is a member of Virtuozzo Failover Cluster.

In Cluster Administrator logs 1069 error is displayed:

Cluster resource '%1' in clustered service or application '%2' failed.

In vzlog the following events are captured:

{0000000000000000}; T=2014.11.17 16:17:19.313; A=vzclres; P=3288.30112; S=VZCLUSTER; F=src\StringUtils.cpp,vzclres_log,328; L=ERROR; R=ffff(65535); C=0(0); M=65535 [] is CT 14314 alive?: returning false

Unexpected container's reboot is caused by a failed "is alive" test. In case if one out of three default "is alive" tests fails, Microsoft clustering service receives the "isalive" failure and decides to restart the container.

One of the following steps can be performed:

  1. Determine and fix reason of failed test by examining C:\vzlog\Scripts\CTID.log file.
  2. Set "Do not restart" option for the container in Cluster Administrator -> Properties of the container -> Advanced Tab;
  3. Change "is alive" test methods to exclude running test which leads to the failure.

    For more information how to change "is alive" tests refer to article "How to modify isalive cluster check methods".
