There is HTML data in database tables in the following form:

<a href="file.php">Sitemap</a>

The database dump created via phpMyAdmin with the option "Save as file" transforms this HTML data into the following form:

<a href="file.php?phpMyAdmin=MoLcdjs763fzWUk%2Cp0eAF-WUgU1">Sitemap</a>

There, "MoLcdjs763fzWUk%2Cp0eAF-WUgU1" is the phpMyAdmin key.

If the option "Save as file" is not checked, or a compression of the dump is enabled, then the table is dumped correctly.

What can I do to make phpMyAdmin dump such data correctly?

The problem is a known one for phpMyAdmin version 2.8, which is used in Parallels Plesk Panel version 8. It will be fixed in the next update of Parallels Plesk Panel.

A hotfix for Parallels Plesk Panel version 8.6 is in the attachment. To install the hotfix, download the archive and put it in the directory PRODUCT_ROOT_D (where "PRODUCT_ROOT_D" is the Plesk installation directory):

  • /usr/local/psa for RedHat-like operating systems and FreeBSD
  • /opt/psa for Debian and Ubuntu
Run the following command to install the hotfix:

~# mv psa86_phpmyadmin.tar.gz PRODUCT_ROOT_D/
~# tar -zxvf psa86_phpmyadmin.tar.gz

Verify and correct ownerships and permissions of the replaced files. They should be root:psaadm, 644.

You may correct permissions with the commands chown and chmod:

~# chown root:psaadm admin/htdocs/domains/databases/phpMyAdmin/export.php
~# chmod 644 admin/htdocs/domains/databases/phpMyAdmin/export.php
