Question

How to restore a backup of a container made on another Parallels Virtuozzo Containers host?

Answer

If you created a container backup on ServerA (locally) and want to restore it on ServerB, you need to do the following:

  1. Copy the backup of the container to ServerB from ServerA:

    • To determine the default backup location, use the command:

      vzbackup storage -G

    • To figure out which backup belongs to your container, use the

      vzbackup list CTID

  2. To make the container backup visible in PIM (Parallels Infrastructure Manager), log in to PIM, choose ServerB, open the Backups tab in the right pane, and click the Refresh Backups button.

This functionality has been available since the release of PIM update PIMU400011.
