Parallels Panel allows you to change permissions for files and directories using the file manager, but some permissions are not saved. For example:

1. Create a directory under "httpdocs" using the file manager.
2. Set a "Read&Execute" permission to the "IUSR_domainftpuser" user for that directory.
3. Parallels Panel reports that it is OK: "Information: File or directory access permissions were updated."
4. Return to the permissions modification page -- the corresponding checkboxes are not set.

It happens because of an optimization that is automatically performed by Parallels Panel. It does grant the required permission for the object, but it does so only for deficient (lacking) permissions. In the example above, Parallels Panel sets special permissions for "Files only" because "Read" for "This folder and subfolders" is already inherited from the parent object. So, the required set of permissions is actually granted, but it is split into two Access Control Entries (ACE); therefore, Windows does not recognize it as "Read&Execute," and ultimately, it is not shown properly in the Parallels Panel file manager.

This permissions display issue will be fixed in a future version of Parallels Panel.
