Symptoms

The probelm is that when starting migration, migrator fetches list of sites in IIS and then sits still forever.

According logs migrator can fetch the IIS sites list but then migration stops and no activity from msiexec.exe is logged at all, nothing new is recorded to migration logs while all 4 misexec.exe processes are hanging.

The migration alway stop to those lines:

Resolution

The probelm will be fixed in future update of Parallels Panel that will be released after version 9.2.3.

Attached is zip archive with fixed InplaceMigrator.dll ove version 9.2.3

Backup original file and place fixed instead to the folder C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{E195DC26-A6B4-4E13-B8E9-D61B43997DDD} where Plesk Migration Manager files reside. See below how to correctly put this file in the right place:

The file should be placed into C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{E195DC26-A6B4-4E13-B8E9-D61B43997DDD}\PMM on the problem server. (If you do not have this directory you should start inplace migration, wait for its hanging up and kill it). Then start installation from a command line like this one:

msiexec /i plesk.msi reinstallmode=vomus /l*v PMM_DONT_EXTRACT=1


Setting of parameter PMM_DONT_EXTRACT will prevent Plesk installer from overwriting content of directory C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{E195DC26-A6B4-4E13-B8E9-D61B43997DDD}
