Symptoms

Disk defragmentation for Windows 2008 R2 Containers fails with the "Class is not registered" error when you start it using the vzctl utility:

C:\Users\administrator>vzctl defrag 101
DefragmentAnalysis error - Class not registered

or

C:\Users\administrator>vzctl defrag 101
DefragmentAnalysis error - Not implemented

Cause

The vzctl utility does not support disk defragmentation for Windows 2008 R2 Containers.

Resolution

It is recommended to run disk defragmentation using the native Windows tool from within Containers.
